My first language is colour.
I am a self-directed, steadfast Metis woman of mixed Anishinaabe, Finnish, Irish, and English heritage. I was born and raised on the unceded Coast Salish Territories of the Səl̓ílwətaʔ, Xʷməθkwəy̓əm, & Sḵwx̱wú7meshsi First Nations. I am grateful to have been raised among mountains, ferns, eagles, bears, cedars, slugs, and barnacles.
I am a multi-disciplinary artist and creative facilitator.
It is in the shades between blue and red where i find my voice. I paint to express my awe and reverence for the exquisite beauty of life on planet Earth. Each painting is a celebration of the wild creativity that is frothing forth onEarth.
I hold a BFA in Film Studies from Ryerson University and have maintained a multi-disciplinary arts practice for over twenty years, including public exhibits, acrylic painting, stencil making, creative facilitation, social interventions, youth empowerment, and multimedia installations.
I became an adult in Tkaronto, “The meeting place”. It was there that I found guidance and mentorship with Dr. Eimear O’Neill and Dr. Edmund O’Sullivan and the Transformative Learning Centre.
I have extensive experience working with diverse intergenerational communities. I currently work with an organization called, IndigenEYEZ, we use land based learning and the creative arts to empower indigenous youth and adults through out the province known as British Columbia.
Past partners include such organizations as the Toronto District School Board, Sketch Working Arts for Street Youth, Transformative Learning Centre at the University of Toronto, Toronto Public Libraries, the Institute of Noetic Sciences, Rainforest Action Network, Green Peace, Grassy Narrows First Nation, Partners for Youth Empowerment, PORAMOR, Fraser Region Aboriginal Friendship Centre Association and Reconciliation in Action.
I am in the process of building this website. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
